Read this book and go to a museum where there are cubist paintings. I was fortunate enough that I read this and went to the MFAH 30 mins away and go to look at Picasso's cubist works. Berger's excellent writing opens up the entire world of cubism for you to enjoy and experience. I went through the museum with my mom and dad and scolded them afterward that they "missed" the exhibit because they spent absolutely zero time immersing themselves within the structurally complete cubist works and instead viewed them as though they were traditional oil paintings. John Berger's wisdom shines in a totally obfuscated world of bourgeois art snobbery.
